  • After Effects
  • Bodymovin Plugin

Operating System:

  • Windows
os support

Design & Animation Guidelines

Simplify Your Workflow

Lottie works best with shape layers and no 3D elements. Use nulls and 2D tracking, as cameras and lights are not supported.

Manage Use of Textures and Image Sizes

Use cropped images and sequences where possible and minimize texture sizes as large image textures can cause memory issues.

Use Gradients Wisely

Prefer the gradient effect in After Effects over image gradients to avoid performance issues.

Composition Layout

Create your instant replay in three parts.

  • Animation-In: Transitions from the stream to the replay.
  • Loop: A seamless animation loop for the replay duration.
  • Animation-Out: Transitions from the loop back to the stream.

Workflow Overview

  • Utilize shape layers with no 3D animations.
  • Limit textures, limit image sequences and use small image sizes.
  • Maintain clear naming conventions and organization with pre-comps.
