Troubleshooting with OBS
Some of your images, elements, text or other customizations may not show up correctly after importing into OBS. This is a good indicator which step of the workflow might need to be revisited in order to make sure everything is set up properly.
- Check your Naming Convention
- If your text is not updating, check that your
#text1
-#text4
identifiers are properly set up. - If your image placeholders are not appearing in the script panel, it might be that your naming is incorrect. Use
#placeholder1
or#placeholder2
- If your colors are not updating, check that your shape layers contain the correct labels for
#color1
#color4
on your Stroke and Fill.
- If your text is not updating, check that your
- Check your Text Setup
- Make sure you have Glyphs enabled in your export
- Include a hidden text layer that contains all of the possible characters of your font
- Check your Videoframe Setup
- Make sure you only have ONE
#videoframe1
composition in your entire replay. - You can pre-compose the layer as much as you'd like but you cannot have 2
#videoframe1
layers.
- Make sure you only have ONE
- Check your Composition markers
- If you are having strange issues with playback, it is likely that you have to make adjustments to your Composition Markers.
- Only use whole frame numbers. Be mindful if you change the FPS of your project after animating and setting your markers. The tool will not read frame numbers that are not whole frames.
- Ensure that your export settings are correct.
- If your replay is slow or laggy. You likely have too many images, image sequences, and/or your images are way too big.
Close OBS and reopen OBS to make sure that make sure everything is working as expected.
After all that is said and done, you're ready to package up your files!
