Submission Guidelines

From 15th December 2025, all products on Marketplace are subject to the Maker Agreement. This agreement can be found in Maker Console, and must be signed by an organization's leader before a product can be submitted.

This document serves as guide for Makers looking to publish products on Marketplace. By adhering to these guidelines, you ensure that your submissions contribute positively to the Elgato ecosystem, providing value to users while respecting legal and community standards — for the full list of guidelines, please refer to the Maker Agreement within Maker Console.

Data & Security

User privacy is protected by law, and you must follow all necessary requirements to ensure a user's data and system are kept safe and secure.

  • Your products must not compromise user safety or device integrity; this includes avoiding software that could cause overheating, unauthorized shutdowns, or introduce harmful software, etc.
  • Your products must have explicit user consent to collect analytical or personal identifiable data.
  • Your products must incorporate necessary security measures to protect user data and prevent unauthorized access.
  • As required by law, when collecting user identifiable data, you must provide user's with:
    • A privacy policy that clearly outlines the data being collected.
    • An easy way for them to request the deletion of said data.

Content Appropriateness

Elgato and Marketplace is committed to an inclusive Marketplace.

  • Your product should be suitable for a broad audience, with particular attention to protecting children from inappropriate content.
  • Your product must be clearly labelled if it contains content that may not be suitable for certain audiences.
  • Your product should be accessibility friendly.
  • Your product and listing must not contain inappropriate, offensive, or discriminatory content.
  • Your product and listing must be respectful of all users and cultures.
  • Your product and listing must not be designed to cause users discomfort.

Elgato is committed to protecting intellectual property, and ensuring a safe and creative space for our community. We encourage the reporting of any violations of these guidelines; if you encounter a product that you believe infringes upon your intellectual property rights or violates our community standards, we ask you to follow the reporting procedures outlined.

As a Maker publishing on Marketplace.

  • Your product must comply with all legal requirements and Elgato's policies.
  • You must own the rights and intellectual property of your product.
  • You must not list products that infringe upon protected third-party material.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your products comply with all local intellectual property laws.

If you believe a product infringes your intellectual property, or that of protected third-party material.

  • You should reach out to the Maker first and attempt to resolve the dispute.
  • If unsuccessful, you should file a DMCA takedown request.

Elgato is committed to cooperating with law enforcement agencies and will take necessary actions when we believe there is a risk of physical harm or a threat to public safety.

Quality Considerations

  • Your products should offer intuitive navigation, aesthetic appeal, and a responsive interface (where applicable).
  • Your products should offer a user experience that aligns with (or surpass) the overall aesthetic and functional standards of the Elgato ecosystem.
  • Your products should be optimized for performance (where applicable), minimizing the impact on device resources such as CPU/GPU, battery life, storage, and data usage.

Pre-Submission Preparation

Prior to submitting your product for review, you should ensure the following.

  • You must thoroughly test your product for errors, bugs, or crashes.
  • You must ensure your product listing, including description and media accurately reflect the product.
  • You must ensure your product listing adheres to Elgato brand and vocabulary guidelines.
  • You must ensure your support contact information is accurate and kept up to date.
  • You should provide appropriate credit for any inspiration and follow any attribution requirements.

Product Review

All products submitted to Marketplace are subject to review by our specialist team. This aims to ensure products are high-quality, providing an excellent experience for our users, and setting our Makers up for success on Marketplace.

  • Your products will undergo a review upon submission to Marketplace.
  • Your products may be subject to requiring modifications during submission, prior to publication.
  • Your products are subject to regular revaluation at any time whilst on Marketplace.
  • Your products may be removed, or Elgato may request modification, if found in violation of these guidelines or the Maker Agreement.
